East Bay Football Club has announced the formation of a new squad, the Stompers Juniors. The club unveiled the visual identity of the Juniors team and revealed that it will begin play as an expansion side in the United Premier Soccer League this fall.
“In looking for a way to extend our competition year-round and give our players top-notch competition all throughout the year, we chose the UPSL,” said Stompers President and Director of Communications Terry Forte. “We’re committed to finding a higher level of play for our younger players.”
The UPSL, which was formed in 2011, currently includes more than 80 teams and is the fastest-growing semipro league in the United States.
“We’re very excited to add East Bay FC Stompers Juniors into the UPSL family of teams in the Northwest Conference, which continues to expand and grow with quality clubs across Northern California," UPSL Commissioner Yan Skwara said.
First-team coach Martin Sierra will serve as head coach for the Juniors as well. Fall schedule and venue information are forthcoming.
